Of primary importance in the HCN thinking is the belief that a great barrier to achievement for many prople is low self-esteem.
In other words, we don't always value ourselves as we should. The HCN Program, therefore, aims at building individual self-esteem grounded in changed positive behaviors.
EACH PERSON IS RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS/HER BEHAVIOR
The HCN model rests on the understanding that people are capable of taking an active role in their own learning and development of new behaviors.
We are all capable of doing this even though we may not have done so in the past.
A POSITIVE PEER GROUP
A positive peer group works as an affirmation support system for us, one we need to live with and work with daily if we are able to make difficult changes.
By participating in HCN, we hope members will learn supportive confrontational skills, to give and receive feedback about our own behaviors, especially those which may be inhibiting our progress toward our stated goals.
